Taylor 2013 518e 1st Edition Transitional Grand Orchestra Guitar - Transitional Inlays

Know Mystery With This Taylor 2013 518e 1st Edition Transitional Grand Orchestra Guitar With Transitional Inlays* And Featuring A Tropical Mahogany Back And Sides Paired To A Sitka Spruce Top.

Known to a very select few, this somewhat mysterious transitional model occurred briefly just between the Taylor 518e First Edition and the Standard 518e model to follow, having the distinctive diamond pattern fingerboard inlays that otherwise identify a usual First Edition, yet lacking the same inlay for the headstock overlay.

Taylor went back to the drawing board to create a guitar with even more volume than their Grand Symphony, yet extremely balanced guitar - and came up with the Grand Orchestra. The Taylor 518e Grand Orchestra has a robust output, dynamic range and sensitive response for all types of players.

This IS Taylor's largest body shape and  boasts Taylor's boldest, richest voice yet, blending low-end power with surprising balance. This First Edition Transitional Model celebrates the first run of their new Grand Orchestra series. It features time-proven Sitka spruce as its top, which gives you wonderful projection with the perfect amount of sparkle, and the 518e's Tropical mahogany back and sides give it a warm and full tone.

Designed to faithfully reproduce your guitar's native tone, the Taylor 518e Grand Orchestra First Edition's Expression System uses patented Dynamic Sensors to capture both top and string vibration with incredible detail. The Taylor ES system was created in partnership with renowned audio pioneer Rupert Neve. Unlike standard onboard electronics, the Taylor Expression System is seamlessly integrated into the design of the 518e from the ground up. Onboard tone controls provide added flavor, or can be set flat for an uncolored, exceptionally clean amplified sound.

*Apologies -  Please note that we are initially posting Taylor's stock photo for the First Edition, pending our actual in-house pic for this guitar. The mid-year 518e transitional version lacks the headstock diamond inlay pictured above.
