Scodwell Trumpets and Scodwell Flugelhorns are sold exclusively through Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center.
The Scodwell standard trumpet model is commonly referred to as the “Las Vegas” model by nature of the tremendous projection and brilliant sound quality. Selective placement of the braces along with an annealing process to the bell maximizes the sound production that gives the player more results for the effort expended.
In the commercial field players are not always in a playing environment that is an acoustically comfortable situation. This Scodwell trumpet allows the player to better hear what is coming out of the bell and at the same time gauge how much energy they are expending.
The Scodwell Las Vegas B-Flat Trumpet, Brushed Lacquer is offered in a raw brass finish, lacquer, brush lacquer and silver or gold plating is optional.
I have now been playing on the Scodwell Bb Las Vegas model for about 6 months. I have used it in mainly in a big band setting on the solo chair. All I can say is that this horn has the right resistance for for me and sounds great in the section and alone. I can hear myself in the section without any problems and cuts over the band for solos. It gives just the right amount of zing when needed or I can use a little larger mouthpiece and the horn plays as smooth as silk. I was so impressed with this horn I bought the Scodwell flugelhorn. My Scodwell has a silver finish and I play mainly on a Warburton 4MC with KT backbore.
