Since their first appearance in 1989, Schagerl Meister instruments are well-known and renowed as the best-quality orchestral instruments. Schagerl Meister Series instruments are state-of-the-art in every way. The needs of musicians in Symphony, Opera and Chamber Orchestras are perfectly served by putting high-quality instruments in their hands. Schagerl instruments are custom made to serve the wishes of professional players.
The Schagerl Raven was conceived to be a rotary valved trumpet with a long lead pipe that travels into the first valve after a long trip out towards the bell and then back towards the mouthpiece - giving the instrument a length similar to a piston trumpet. The horn is extremely warm sounding when played softly, having characteristics close to a cornet.
Gold plated instruments are known to have a generally warmer sound than other finishes. Because gold doesn't adhere to brass, instruments are plated in gold using a double plating process; the instrument is first silver plated, then the gold is plated on top of it. The added material focuses and smoothens the sound for a unique timbre suited for orchestral and jazz playing alike.
