Every single Fender Custom Shop model is founded in the idea that in order to build vintage quality guitars, each must stay solidly based in their roots. Their work is always progressing outward from that meticulously crafted replica of the original model, using the same techniques and tooling used on the originals. They know that integrity in craftsmanship and that special feel has to come first, and magic will happen.
Starting from there, the Custom Shop goes on to offer some pretty special modifications, like those embodied by this very special guitar, amidst it's foam and sparkle, recently unleashed for the Anaheim Winter Namm Show.
A SHARP DRESSED STRAT
What a body. The Fender Custom Shop selected a very nicely balanced and lightweight ash for this particular model. Long known for the equal ability to produce both dulcet and markedly less than dulcet tones when placed in the right hands, this special edition Super Strat's ash body, and all that pent-up possibility churns beneath the wave created by this aggressive new color conceived especially for the 2018 Winter NAMM event - Seafoam Green Sparkle!
ROASTED MAPLE NECK
Roasted maple's signature golden color always enhances the beauty of natural figure, and roasted maple necks require no further finish be applied in order to harden and seal the wood, which is a benefit. Most players tend to prefer that more satin feel. We also like a neck that's solid in our hand. The vulcanization process enhances neck stability for an increased note sustain, while at the same time assuring a minimum need for any future neck adjustments. Solid.
WIRED AND READY
Not just another pretty face, this one has a trio of hand-wound Fat '60s Strat pickups that includes a reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup, reducing RF- and EMI-induced hum in positions two and four. Having a five-way switch and modified wiring - including a Tone-Saver treble-bleed circuit - selects pickups in almost any combination, all the while preserving your tone no matter where the instrument’s volume is set..
There are a very few models from the past that have survived to present day with class, all while looking nearly brand new. Such are the guitars that inspire the Fender Custom Shop NOS (New Old Stock) finish option, with all-lacquer finish and a look that hasn't aged at all.
Other features include a comfortably modern 9.5" radius slab rosewood fingerboard on a AA roasted maple neck, 21 Jescar 6100 jumbo frets, American Vintage synchronized tremolo bridge, vintage-style headstock with gold tuning machines, Fender logo, bone nut and string tree with metal spacer. It also includes a deluxe hardshell case, strap and Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity and build specifications for your guitar.
