  • Orchestral String Instrument Repair Technician

    Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center has an immediate opening for highly skilled and experienced Orchestral String Instrument repair technicians. Located just outside of the nation’s capital, Chuck Levin’s has been the leading independent strings retailer since 1958.

    We are interested in seasoned veteran repair technicians as well as recent repair school graduates. Applicants must have the ability to perform all manner of repairs on instruments of the violin family, including double bass.

    Graduate certification from an accredited repair school or two years of instrument repair experience is required.

  • Woodwind Repair Technician

  • Drum Sales/ Percussion Expert

    We are searching for an experienced sales professional to add to our Drum Department. This position is full time (40 hours a week). Compensation is hourly plus commission for unlimited earning potential. Excellent benefits are available including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and 401K.

    Requirements:
    * Weekday and Saturday availability.
    * A passion for music and music accessories.
    * Five or more years of drumming experience.
    * Computer literacy with a functional understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Navision, etc.) and various social media platforms.
    * Two years of sales experience preferred.
    * A strong familiarity with the most common industry manufacturers, brands, models, and technology involved in the modern percussion world, to include:

    *** Traditional drum kits (Tama, Gretsch, DW)

    *** V Drums and drum pads (Roland, Yamaha)

    *** Hand percussion (Latin Percussion, Meinl)

    *** Cymbals (Zildjian, Sabian, Meinl)

  • Front Counter Product Specialist

    Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center is the leading independent musical instrument and equipment retailer throughout the DMV and celebrating our 61st year of family-owned operation. We are seeking knowledgeable and multi-faceted Product Specialists to join our Sales Team.

    Qualified candidates should be excellent communicators, client oriented, and well-versed in professional music work environments. Applicants should be able to follow instructions and think outside of the box. We are searching for a salesperson with an upbeat personality and go-getter attitude. You must be a “people person” - outgoing and personable with the ability to work independently or as a part of a team.

    Work history should include but is not limited to music retail, venue operation, and performance promotion. Retail experience of any capacity preferred but not required. Product Specialists must be thoroughly familiar with any or all of the following categories:


    1. Guitars and basses
    2. Orchestral string instruments
    3. Woodwind and brass
    4. Professional sound
    5. Recording technology
    6. Effects and accessories
    7. Vocal and instrument microphones

  • Guitar Technician

    Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center is seeking a full-time guitar technician to aid in the setup of daily instrument sales, to maintain the Guitar Department sales floor, and to specialize in Guitar Department inventory.

    Hourly wage commensurate with experience. Available benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and 401K.

    All qualified candidates will be asked to participate in interviews and a bench test.

    Guitar Technician Job Duties:
    * Set up guitars for that day’s online sales, tailored to the customers’ measurements and string preferences.
    * Set up and restring guitars sold in-store. Talk to customers directly to gauge their setup requests.
    * Regularly adjust, retune, and clean guitars on sales floor based on traffic, use, seasonal weather, and climate changes.
    * Monitor and refill humidifiers daily during the winter.

    Required Technician Skills:
    * Restring steel string, nylon string, and electric guitars (including floating tremolo bridge and Floyd Rose bridge instruments).
    * Adjust truss rods.
    * Set string heights at specific points on fretboard.
    * File nut slots, saddles, and fret ends.
    * Level, crown, and polish frets.
    * Oil and clean fretboards.
    * Minor soldering and electronics repair.
    * Re-humidify dry guitars.

    General Requirements:
    * High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Some college preferred.
    * At least one year of guitar setup or repair experience in a professional setting.
    * Certification from guitar repair program beneficial but not necessary.
    * Familiarity with acoustic and electric guitars across many styles and brands.
    * Saturday availability required.

  • Brand Marketing Manager

    Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center is the leading independent musical instrument and equipment retailer throughout the DMV and celebrating our 61st year of family-owned operation in 2019. We are seeking an innovative and accomplished Brand Marketing Manager to homogenize our brand and facilitate uniform presentation and customer engagement across all platforms. This is a high-level executive position that will create and control marketing efforts as well as facilitate exceptional customer experiences.

    The Brand Marketing Manager will help set the tone for Washington Music Center’s marketplace reputation and brand equity through the deliberate consolidation of advertising, brand identify, and customer interaction. Using online stores and social media channels, the Brand Marketing Manager will focus on content creation and consumer analytics to better connect Chuck Levin’s to musicians around the world.

    Compensation based on experience and performance.

    Responsibilities:
    1. Create and refine the Chuck Levin’s social media voice and establish social media guidelines.
    2. Create and promote engaging and effective content that targets customers through each phase of the buying cycle.
    3. Work with creative resources to product and promote content that aligns with the Chuck Levin’s brand identify across digital and physical formats.
    4. Collect and utilitize relevant data to guide the Chuck Levin’s E-Commerce and brick-and-mortar teams to effectively reach our audiences.
    5. Develop and maintain relationships with 3rd party vendor/manufacturers to cross-promote content, raise and utilize co-op spend, and establish unique sales/ promotions.
    6. Create and maintain the Chuck Levin’s marketing calendar.
    7. Provide content editorial oversight.
    8. Develop marketing budget.
    9. Develop and launch marketing campaigns.
    10. Leverage marketing budget to elevate and promote products through channels such as Google shopping.
    11. Establish KPI’s, measure and report on marketing campaigns and objectives.
    12. Lay the groundwork for CRM implementation.
    13. Utilize email marketing platforms to launch email campaigns.
    14. Represent the company at local festivals, and both in-store and offsite events.
    15. Other tasks/responsibilities as assigned.

    Requirements:
    1. A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or equivalent work experience.
    2. 2+ years in a professional marketing position.
    3. A passion for curating and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
    4. A go-getter attitude with no fear of rolling up your sleeves and pitching in wherever necessary.
    5. Experience working in a collaborative environment – coordinating with multiple teams to ensure seamless project completion.
    6. Experience with email marketing tools such as ActiveCampaign and Mailchimp.
    7. Experience with Facebook Business Manager, Facebook and Instagram ad campaigns.
    8. Experience with Google Analytics.
    9. Experience developing, launching, and reporting on successful marketing campaigns.
    10. Advanced knowledge of SEO and SEM.
    11. Proficient with graphic design and editing software such as Photoshop and Lightroom.
    12. Experience with Zendesk or similar customer service related tools.
    13. Industry knowledge of best practices and trending movements as it pertains to marketing and social media.
    14. Experience as a musician or within the music industry is strongly preferred.
    15. Experience managing a team of employees is strongly preferred.
