  • Orchestral String Instrument Repair Technician

    Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center has an immediate opening for highly skilled and experienced Orchestral String Instrument repair technicians. Located just outside of the nation’s capital, Chuck Levin’s has been the leading independent strings retailer since 1958.

    We are interested in seasoned veteran repair technicians as well as recent repair school graduates. Applicants must have the ability to perform all manner of repairs on instruments of the violin family, including double bass.

    Graduate certification from an accredited repair school or two years of instrument repair experience is required.

    Compensation will be based on experience and productivity.

  • Woodwind Repair Technician

  • Accounts Payable Clerk

    Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center has an opening for a fulltime Accounts Payable Clerk to process a large volume of invoices, enter order confirmations, and verify costs against purchase orders.

    Requirements:


    * Five or more years of Accounts Payable and Inventory Control experience (utilizing purchase orders and receiving reports).
    * Ability to resolve vendor disputes and reconcile vendor statements.
    * Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
    * High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Some college (with experience in Accounting) preferred.
    * College-level basic Accounting.
    * Knowledgeable in basic Accounting procedures, practices, and principles.
    * Ability to determine work priorities to meet scheduled deadlines and terms of invoices.
    * Ability to follow, apply, and interpret instructions.
    * Must have great communication skills to interact with both co-workers and vendors.
    * Must be able to multitask and take on new tasks as assigned.

    Salary commensurate with experience. Benefits include health, dental, life insurance, and 401K. Hours would be fulltime Monday - Friday

  • Drum Sales/ Percussion Expert

    We are searching for an experienced sales professional to add to our Drum Department. This position is full time (40 hours a week). Compensation is hourly plus commission for unlimited earning potential. Excellent benefits are available including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and 401K.

    Requirements:
    * Weekday and Saturday availability.
    * A passion for music and music accessories.
    * Five or more years of drumming experience.
    * Computer literacy with a functional understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Navision, etc.) and various social media platforms.
    * Two years of sales experience preferred.
    * A strong familiarity with the most common industry manufacturers, brands, models, and technology involved in the modern percussion world, to include:

    *** Traditional drum kits (Tama, Gretsch, DW)

    *** V Drums and drum pads (Roland, Yamaha)

    *** Hand percussion (Latin Percussion, Meinl)

    *** Cymbals (Zildjian, Sabian, Meinl)

    *** Sticks, mallets, and beaters (Vic Firth, Vater, ProMark)

    *** Hybrid analog-digital technology

    *** Percussion hardware

  • Guitar Stock

    Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center is the leading independent musical instrument and equipment retailer throughout the DMV and celebrating our 61st year of family-owned operation. We are seeking one full-time employee to specialize in Guitar Department inventory.

    Hourly wage is entry-level and commensurate with experience. Available benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and 401K.

    Stock applicants with guitar repair or setup experience might be given priority.

    Job Duties
    1. Merchandise, organize, and catalogue newly received product each day.
    2. Maintain accurate inventory through physical inspection.
    3. Cycle count existing product and rotate stock as necessary.
    4. Load and unload delivery trucks.
    5. Repopulate sales floor with fresh product as guitars and amps sell. Rearrange displays accordingly.
    6. Learn and utilize Microsoft Navision inventory software.
    7. Assist sales team in retrieving products from warehouses.

    Requirements
    1. Highly functional knowledge of guitars (acoustic and electric), basses, and amps.
    2. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
    3. Steady and consistent employment history.
    4. Computer proficiency with an emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
    5. Ability to lift 75 pounds regularly with easy.
    6. Some Saturday availability required.
    7. Interest in music retail strongly preferred.
    8. 1-2 years stock or warehouse experience preferred

  • Front Counter Product Specialist

    Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center is the leading independent musical instrument and equipment retailer throughout the DMV and celebrating our 61st year of family-owned operation. We are seeking knowledgeable and multi-faceted Product Specialists to join our Sales Team.

    Qualified candidates should be excellent communicators, client oriented, and well-versed in professional music work environments. Applicants should be able to follow instructions and think outside of the box. We are searching for a salesperson with an upbeat personality and go-getter attitude. You must be a “people person” - outgoing and personable with the ability to work independently or as a part of a team.

    Work history should include but is not limited to music retail, venue operation, and performance promotion. Retail experience of any capacity preferred but not required. Product Specialists must be thoroughly familiar with any or all of the following categories:


    1. Guitars and basses
    2. Orchestral string instruments
    3. Woodwind and brass
    4. Professional sound
    5. Recording technology
    6. Effects and accessories
    7. Vocal and instrument microphones
    8. Keyboards, controllers, and DJ equipment
    9. Lighting
