Taylor Custom GA Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar - Cocobolo & Adirondack Spruce

Enjoy A Beauty With Bounce - The Taylor Custom Grand Auditorium Venetian Cutaway Acoustic Cocobolo & Adirondack Spruce Top Has Dynamic Range

This special Grand Auditorium custom build projects a uniquely attractive vibe, and is one of only 10 built to this spec. The top of Adirondack spruce has a certain bounce to it - an almost "springy" quality, with plenty of dynamic range. It's back and sides of beautiful cocobolo offer the player both sweetness and an edge in the mids over the rosewoods. This model has comfortable ergonomic contours with both beveled armrest and body edge treatment.

    TO THE TOP

Adirondack spruce very much defined the acoustic guitars of our pre-WWII era, and may also go under names like Eastern Red, or Appalachian spruce. Tonally, Adirondack has more dynamics than Sitka, with a higher ceiling for volume. The payoff is the ability to drive an Adirondack top hard, and you'll hear it get louder - and louder still - without losing clarity; it’s hard to outplay it. It takes a licking and rebounds with sound.

    AND BACK

Cocobolo is a dense, stiff tropical hardwood from Mexico. In appearance, this wonderful tone wood has the color vibrancy of the most highly figured rosewood, opening endless visual possibilities simply from the blending of it's reds into browns or blacks. Tonally, this choice of body wood has edge - a more focused mid character often associated with koa - but deftly embedded in the lower tones and the overall feel of a rosewood back and sides.

The Taylor ES pickup system is built seamlessly into the design of the guitar - an integrated pickup system unlike any other. From design and location of both body and string sensors, to the voicing of the preamp, the ES is fully optimized to reproduce your sound. Elegant design includes the non-intrusive control knobs and also preserves the aesthetics of this acoustic instrument.
